Carpet in the kitchen and bathroom are usually one of the renovations most homeowners want to change when they move into their new house. One of our past clients recently sent us her kitchen carpet removal story. Thanks for sharing and the new floor looks fantastic!
Our kitchen and dining room floor came with a white carpet when we bought the house. I don’t really think carpet belongs in those rooms.
We spent a lot of time trying to figure out what we’d like to do about the flooring, it seemed like such a huge decision. And, we wanted to make sure it was done properly so we did hire out on this project. We settled on Luxury vinyl tile, congoleum duraceramic. We decided to do some of the work ourselves to prep the floor. We did all the furniture moving, and we removed the carpet and pad and cleaned up the floor. We even found the original linoleum under the carpet:
It was a 2 day job once the installers arrived
We decided we weren’t a very formal couple, so we wanted something artsy, casual, warm, and with texture. As a fiber artist, I really enjoyed picking out something that looked like linen to me. This tile was installed in a herringbone pattern.
